Stolen 2002 Wrangler from Philadelphia, PA

1 Attachment(s)
My dark green 2002 Jeep Wrangler was stolen from me in Philadelphia on 12/30/12. It could be in pieces already. The key parts they were interested in may be the 4 used (3+year old) & 1 new spare 33" Mickey Thompson Baja MTZs and the Fox Gas shocks (about 1 year old). Engine only had 52,000 miles on it. Hard top as well. Kind of a long shot but if anyone comes across these items for cheap.... Very angry, sad to lose my jeep. Thanks

Bossmanx 01-03-2013 12:15 AM

Good luck man. I hope something comes to light.

stonewall_jeep 01-09-2013 11:29 PM

if you don't mind me asking....how did it get stolen and man I feel for ya I don't know what I would do if my baby was taken

Rwilliamjacob 01-10-2013 09:22 AM

Im in york but ill keep a look at as well. You never know, we have some 4x4 shops here and a jeep junk yard that is well known.

scootzb 01-10-2013 10:14 AM

It was stolen right outside of my house - parked on the street. Watching tv at 10:45pm, literally 15ft away when we heard the distinct sound of my jeep starting up. My wife gave me a jab with her elbow as we both realized, "That's the Jeep!!". We both ran outside without shoes on to see the bastard pulling out. I yelled and banged on the window, tried to open the door but it was locked.

This was no kid who stole my jeep. Older white/possibly hispanic guy wearing a black winter hat/beanie.
What stuck in my mind was his mustache. Dark and trimmed - almost hitler like.

There are plenty of jeeps in my neighborhood, stock and customized... They wanted mine for some reason.

We were the phone with the cops while the jeep was in sight and a cop pulled up within five minutes surprisingly. You couldn't have had a faster response time. And somehow he got away with it.
I always thought it would be foolish to steal a lifted jeep because it stands out so much and your definitely not going to outrun anybody in it.

I didn't have an alarm system or kill switch. And of course we were slacking on putting our club on - which may or may not have deterred the thief. Going forward, when I eventually get another jeep, I will definitely invest in security measures.

I can keep myself awake at night going over and over again the different ways I should have handled the situation but what's done is done.

The Philly cops don't have time to have me look over mug shots. They said they only do those for homicides and burglaries. I just want some justice because these bastards are just gonna go out and steal more vehicles.

Thanks everyone for your attention and for keepin' an eye out.

Cheers!

stonewall_jeep 01-10-2013 10:59 AM

Renegades 01-22-2013 12:54 AM

There very expensive and may never actually do anything but there exactly like insurance! The day something does happen, you'll be VERY glad you spent the money! Protect your investments people!! Jeeps are one of the number one stolen vehicles from what I'm told!

panthermark 01-22-2013 06:12 AM

so sorry! and you actually caught up and saw the guy too! I bet that makes you even more pissed, I wish you the best of luck and I hope someone finds the losers and put them behind bars!!

lane_Morris 01-22-2013 09:54 PM

If you do find it make sure to take care of that guy.. Nobody knows the bonding between a man and his jeep until he has one... If you can't find it that gives you another excuse to build up a jeep into everything you have ever wanted! Good luck man hope you find it

Gio08 01-23-2013 11:19 PM

Dude this sucks.....I just got my jeep and i'm freaking out reading this story.
Dude hope all gets better and just rest in the fact that this was not your fault.

Blessings
