How It's Made

Does anyone else watch this show on the Discovery Channel? I admit....I am fascinated with this show! I'm constantly checking the TV Guide for when it's going to be aired. And, I've figured out that it's not exactly WHAT'S being made, it's the machines that are used to make whatever is being made. I love watching those assembly line machines do their thing. I think that's what fascinates me the most.
So, I'll admit to being a nerd if no one else watches this show, but not if there are others out there who watch it too!!

'Fess up folks.......................... :D

I watch it but the narrator makes me want to fall asleep.

Haven't watched TV in like four months... I miss that show. Good thing we just picked a set up today (talked Cain out of the 50 inch).

The narrator is a little monotone though...

!

guilty!

Lori and Allie think I'm sick for watching it.

The sad part is I even record it. I don't care if they are doing Injection molding or making taffy I'm in!

cavediverjc 08-27-2008 11:06 PM

I never really paid any attention to the narrator!! I could watch the show on mute, though, since most of my enjoyment comes from watching the machines. I need to get out more............... :crash:

I watch it every chance I get. My kids even like it! I agree about the narrator, though. He reminds me of the old educational films we used to watch in grade school.

AzTJ 08-27-2008 11:54 PM

There is another version of that show on the Science Channel, the narrator is a little better.

RatherBNarizona 08-28-2008 02:17 AM

i watch it sometimes
pretty interesting, but sometimes gets boring

jpdocdave 08-28-2008 07:20 AM

i watch it, i like the hand made stuff a lot to. i see it on the guide channel, and i think oh crap, they're making boring stuff, and turn it on anyway, and then i end up liking it everytime. everything is interesting when they show it.

Great show, they just re-run the same episode way too many times.

tet1070 08-28-2008 09:04 AM

I catch it every time I know it's on. Like mentioned, there is another show that is just like it. Just can't remember the name of it though.

It's like "Some Assembly Required" or something to that effect.

Guilty as charged!

cavediverjc 08-28-2008 03:10 PM

I already know how blue jeans are made. I used to work in a clothing factory. It was a suckie job and the pay was even worse.

thats funny, i don't remember seeing people in that process anymore. thats why i like seeing the things they still have people making with their hands.

the fire fighter boot episode was cool. or musical instruments. people still making things with their hands thats what i like. craftsmen

cavediverjc 08-28-2008 06:05 PM

I just caught the last part of an episode where they make guitars. I've seen it before, but I watched it just the same. I agree with you Doc......I do like watching how they make musical instruments. I watched an episode where they made electric violins. That was cool.

tazmann910 08-28-2008 07:15 PM

Guilty. My Tivo is set to record the show. My kids and I watch it all the time. At one point in time I had 9 episodes recorded.

debruins 08-28-2008 09:46 PM

i watch it too, ill be channel surfing and it will be on and ill watch like and hour of it before i even realize how long ive been watching ti for

AzTJ 08-28-2008 10:21 PM

I think I like watching Modern Marvels on the History channel more than How It's Made.

SPDSNYPR 08-29-2008 12:07 AM

I got on a how it's made kick for awhile, but then it waned. I started watching too many show like it.

I've moved on to 'House'. Now I'm a junkie of that show. 'Cash Cab' is another current favorite.
