Frame mounted vs body mounted rock rails

I like the idea of frame mounted because it sounds stronger and body mounted seen like they can just pull the screws out. And I'm not fond of screwing anything into the body. But I might have a chance to buy some poison Spyder ricochet rockers from someone. What are your opinions.

I love my fabtech sliders. Mount to the body mounts. Haven't dented yet.

I don't like to do any mod that can't relatively easily be undone. I didn't want any holes in the side of my jeep so I went with a set that mounts to the body mount out-riggers. I really don't plan to "need" rockcrawler guards so I didn't worry about which style was actually better, just which set was easy to install without making holes.

Yeah I really don't like the holes myself. And i dont plan to wheel it much but I want a step that can serve as protection. And the PO I got the jeep from screwed this plastic diamond plate stuff around the corners and underneath the door I was not happy about that.

Keep the diamond plate stuff and just get ACE rock rails, they use the body mounts, are tuff as crap, well priced and give you a step.

does ACE make rails for TJ's and more importantly for me LJ's? I've been wondering the same thing as the OP

Wow just looked, I swear they had at one point but it looks like they no longer do. Maybe contact them and see. I had them on my 4dr and loved them.

Body mounted is far and away stronger.....and besides, you're not protecting the frame. You're protecting the tub. Strength lies in design and fastening methods. Take a look at how Savvy attaches their sliders to the tub.
