I'm new to the jeep addiction. Iím a first time jeep owner so bare with me do to Iím learning the innís and outís and the ethics of the jeep world.

I bought a 1988 Wrangler Yj back in November of last year. Brought her home and started my list. Man did my wife freak when I told her about the plans I had for our new addition LOL.

Our first trip out with the jeep was Landers out at means dry lake bed. Wife and kids had a blast in it. My 10 year old daughter had fun driving it.
The wheels and tires on this jeep needed attention. The wheels were 10” wide so it was tricky getting her in the trailer.
One of the dry rotted tires that I bought the jeep with had a blow out so I went in to yucca valley to the local tire shop to find a replacement and ended up buying a set of used take offs and some used jeep wheels.

First thing I build was a much need tire carrier. So I took the old Smitty built bumpers off and built my own Front and rear bumpers.
I bought the Spindle mount kit from A to Z Fab for the tire Carrier. http://www.atozfabrication.com/store/home.php?cat=274
I had the local Metal supply bend up my angles for the bumpers and I cut and welded them up.
I also built my own sliders. 1/8 plate and 1-5/8 120wall tubing.
Once I got them finished I coated them with bed liner spray.

So I saw a few jeeps at Truckhaven with flat fenders and decided that's what I'm building next.
Found a few pictures on the web and came up with these. I cut the stock fender and welded the tubing to it to make the flat fenders.
first pictures are of them measured out parallel to the tire. They looked goofy to me. So i cut them down and followed the hood line out 4".
I'm going out tonight to finish the body work on these fenders I'll post pics when I'm done.
Enjoy:popcorn:
Picture 4 you can see on the passenger side the first design. Driveres side is what i like better.

Come out and join us if your up for it.

I like your thread. Good choice on the flat fenders. I like the drivers side also. Enjoy the nice weather in CA. Getting snow tonight here in the North East. 2-4 more inches. always fun.

Those tail lights look really good. I couldn't tell though, is the clear ring around them back-up lights? If so do you still have the website for them? Nice fab work on the fenders.

Did a little upgrade for the jeep today. The kids were complaining they couldn't see out the front window. so i built a 6" seat raiser with storage.:punk: I can still sit in the back seat and still have head room and I'm 6' tall.

Did you use a circle cutter bit for those tail lights? Love the way they look. :) Looking to do that at some point, and those are the best looking ones I've seen yet. Awesome job on the build as well!

Yes I did use a hole saw. I lined it Up so it cut all the stock holes out. Thanks for the complement.

Had the day off so I built some mounts for my high lift jack. Mounts perfect behind the rear seat. Also mounted my air tank (white thing) i built under the rear seat.

Can you tell me how bright are the backup lights?
