Footwell Lighting Help!

Hello everybody! So, I have already bought all the materials I need to hook up LEDs in the front and rear footwells but I cant figure out which wire is the wire I need to tap into to power them. I want to tap in to the HVAC backlight wire and so that when I turn on my headlights the floor lights will come on with the rest of the interior lights and will dim with them accordingly. I am also attaching a switch so that if I want them off entirely I can do that as well. I'm in a 2011 jk. Any help is much appreciated! :D

Post #16 mentions a harness next to emergency brake in this thread

All I know is its the yellow wire on my 2011 the previous owner did led on the passenger side so I just ran the driver side wiring over there works great

On my last vehicle I also mounted some on the inside wall of the vehicle underneath the rear seats, so they would shine from underneath the rear seats and light the rear floorboards. I plan on doing this to my JK also. I just used truck clearance lights for that, but will switch to LED this time around.

I haven't looked into the wires near the emergency brake so that may be an option but the yellow wire on the passenger side I have heard of just wasn't sure if it was just a completely yellow wire or a yellow wire with a stripe of some sort. I just need a little bit more of a description of the exact wire I need to tap into (color, location, etc). I also wasn't sure if I tapped into the wire on the passenger side in the bundle if it would be before or after the switch that controls the headlights from the steering wheel. Sasquatchewan, if there was anyway you could take a picture of where your lights are tap into this wire that would help me TONS! Thanks for all the help so far guys!

I'm trying this same thing right now, how did you end up wiring it??

If you tap into the orange w/ grey stripe wire behind the hvac then the lights will come on when you turn in the headlights.

Just an update, I decided to tap into the twelve volt power going into the accessory outlet that is only powered when the Jeep is actually running. After messing with the lights they weren't all that bright and figured I wouldn't have to dim them any way. I figured I was just making things harder for myself! But I do appreciate all the help and the lights look great!
