Sell my 430N head unit?

Hi, I'm new here. And new to Jeeps! Anyway, I have a 2013 Unlimited Rubicon and thought I'd be a fan of the 430N package sound, but I'm not. I'm thinking of parting ways with the 430N unit and replacing the factory speakers/amp. I'm just trying to get a sense of whether there is a market for these used and, if so, what I might reasonably expect pricewise. It would affect whether I want to dump money into revamping the sound system. Thanks!

out of curiosity what dont you like about it?

having a hard time deciding if I should pony up the extra $ for the 430 over the standard Rubi stereo

for $1000 to go from 130 to 430 you could put in a killer aftermarket head unit and speakers etc ...

By any chance are you the guy who came into my work (cartoys) earlier today? Haha

Once you get 15 posts, you can put up for sale in the wanted portion.

I'm sure there is a market for them, but you are going to take a pretty big hit. I'd guess that they would go for $500-$600 being as new as it is.

I got my 430 RBZ (non-nav) for $260 shipped...but I looked hard for that deal.

Cole (nice nod to Days of Thunder): Just not a great sounds. Sort of flat, not balanced out between highs/lows, and underpowered. I have tinkered with the equalizer and it ain't cutting it. Can hardly hear the sound bar speakers or the sub.

Luke: That be me. Small world!!!

Agree, I'm searching for a deal on an RBZ non-nav myself, but as others have said its going to be a hit. I'm at a $300 price point, so it may be a good idea to go aftermarket. But I understand wanting to stay with an OEM look :)

You have a Rubi, so you have the Premium Sound sytem.

The problem isn't the really the Head Unit, it is the amp.
Actually, it is a horrible combination of the two.

If you really want better sound, you need to tear out the amp as well.....and basically start from scratch. The processing is in the amp, not the HU. Lot of threads on the situation...no great (inexpensive) solution.

if it takes up too much space you could just send it to me:angel:not available as an option for us lowly sport owners:nonono:lol

I didn't upgrade the sound in my 10th anniversary because if I do anything I'm going to get way further in the aftermarket.

I think one factor that may affect value is if the Chrysler vehicle has to be wired specifically for the 430 or 730.

DozerJeeper 01-17-2013 07:03 PM

If you're really serious about swapping it out, let me know. I'm sure we could work something out. :D

kytjjk 01-17-2013 08:56 PM

Yes, if you get the correct unit, it is 100% plug and play. A 15 minute job.
