Chuck is human after all

no not chuck norris. chuck lidell lost to rashad evans saturday. i think it might be coming to the end for him. i have refused to listen to it since he lost to rampage, and he did beat wanderlei silva in a great fight. but losing to keith jardine, and now rashad. he's lost 3 of his last 4 fights.

i'm still gonna pull for him to get back on top, but the ufc is changing, and the caliber of fighters are as close to perfect all around as you can get.

i hope randy coutoure beets brock lesnar. but this is the era of bj penn, anderson silva, and gsp.

what do you ufc fans think?

I think Brock Lesnar is tough as nails, but he doesn't have anywhere near the expertise as Randy Couture. I know, Randy is getting a little long in the tooth, but he's an excellent grappler and a heavy handed stand-up artist as well. It's going to be a good fight, but I think the smart money is on Randy. As for Chuck....I sure hated to see him lose again. But Rashad is on a helluva winning streak, and he's a great wrestler. He's got a great future in the UFC and I look forward to watching his career progress like I've watched everyone else's. I agree when you say that the current fighters in the UFC are the best there's ever been, and they're only getting better. Gone are the days of practicing only one style. Those UFCs were fun to watch in the early days, but those fighters wouldn't stand a chance in the octagon against these current fighters. Matt Hughes proved that when he destroyed my old hero Royce Gracie. And don't get me started on Ken Shamrock. He should have hung it up years ago.

^ya right on. but i don't think rashad has fought many top level fighter till now, and his attitude sucked on tuf. don't even get me started on bisping either. i hated to see hughes lose to. hope he gets the serra fight and destroys that punk.

i would like to see chuck go out on a good note, not like shamrock and ortiz.

but randy is a different story, he is still the man. he is amazing, smartest toughest fighter i've seen. i don't think lesnar has a chance against randy's expertise. did you see the way lesnar got submitted that one time, with a heel lock or something stupid, the guy just reached out and took it while he stood there like a dumb tree. lesnar doesn't deserve that fight, dana is just hoping brock gets lucky and ruins randy's future.

Yeah, it seems like Dana is hanging his hat on the old "Shock and Awe" campaign for the UFC. I think Randy is going to teach a little humility to Lesnar, though Lesnar will still presumably talk trash even after Randy works him over.

I was rooting for Chuck, but not laying any bets...the times have changed indeed. I pretty much have to go for the old guys, 'cuz I'm an old guy, and have watched these warriors...But Damn...GO RANDY!

Chuck Liddell got hit so hard it hurt me. I wanted to send him some flowers or an "I'm sorry" note just for watching it.

UFC is getting more challenging as you don't have certian "styles" going against each other anymore. Hence the MMA tag the sport has gotten.

Has anyone heard about Evan Tanner yet? They found his body in the desert. They think he died from heat exhaustion. Yahoo News has a write-up on the whole thing. I can't believe he's dead. I just watched UFC 53 the other night on DVD and watched him fight Rich Franklin. It's hard to believe he's dead. He was a genuinely nice guy; MMA will miss his charisma and character. He wasn't the best fighter, but he did hold the title for a bit, and he brought class to the octagon. I know I'll miss him. :(

wow, i didn't hear that, i saw his last ufc fight. he didn't fight to well, but thats to bad.
