rear tow hooks.

got some universal tow hooks to bolt on the rear, found I had only one pre drilled hole for them back there, the bumper mount. so I drilled and tapped one more on the frame and did a bolt and nut on the small strip of steel on the bottom of my bumper. how did anybody else do it? I know that might not be the best place to put it.

thanks. if they become an issue hanging up, or bow the frame I'll move them up there, but for now I think 3 grade 8s should hold it together.

I had 2 GM hooks on the back, just under the bumper on the bumper mounts of the YJ. It only took two times of me climbing a hill on an angle and having them dig into the ground and I took them off. Scared the crap out of me the first time I rode up the front left onto a ridge and the right rear hook dug into the trail. Pinged through the frame like I broke an axle or something!

thanks, ill keep that in mind. but I rarely ever wheel where clearance is an issue, most of mine is done on forest service roads or in snow. I appreciate the input greatly, just don't feel like drilling another hole in each side at the moment unless I have too.

Thats how mine was before I got my new bumper, used one hole that was there and drilled the other..
