Brakes and RPM

Newbie here so sorry if I use some wrong terms,

Today I was rolling down my driveway backwards in first gear but had the clutch in so I was rolling freely. When I got to the street a car came by very fast and because I'm still new to the whole stick shift thing I let go of the clutch and hit the brake causing me to stall at 5 MPH or so. When I turned my Jeep back on I noticed the RPMs shot up to around 2000 and stayed there when i was in neutral or had the clutch in and also makes a buzzing noise. Then I pressed my brakes and they would barely budge and I could only slow down a tiny amount. Any ideas of what is wrong or how these could be connected? Anything I can do on my own to try to fix it, or should I just go to the shop?

Thanks,
Ben

Sounds like the lurch might of unplugged the vacuum line from the booster. While running pop the hood and look around. Listen for a vacuum leak.

Yep, sounds like the vacuum line came off of the brake booster; but I'm not sure how stalling the Jeep would have caused it.

Where is the brake booster? I can tell where the noise is coming from but I can't see anything disconnected

Driver side on the firewall. It's that big old black cylinder looking thing just aft of the brake fluid reservoir.

Vacuum line is on the inboard side of that cylinder. Don't have any pics at the moment but let me know if you're still confused.

Just fixed it. It was the loose vacuum to the break booster. Thank y'all
