Hi

I'm new to the area and I'm looking for something near by that I can take my stock JK to.
I live near Dana Point, and I haven't really been out exploring yet.

I've heard about the "Divide" but it sounds like my mom's mini van could make it there. I still want to check it out, but is there anything a little more challenging, that doesn't include rock crawling?

Thanks
Looking forward to meeting you guys.

Dave

Welcome bud. Keep your eye open on the main area for runs going almost weekly.

Welcome to the Disease. Lots of runs going on just an hour or so away up in the Desert all the time. Be glad to have you.

Beautiful Jeep you got there. We are gonna do the divide road sometime this month. ButYou can do Anza Borrego. There is lots of medium trails and fun canyons there and its not to far.

Welcome to the forum!

Cleghorn would be a good first run. Probably 90 minutes from you though, not sure if that's too far.

There's a run next Sunday:

Welcome to the forum Dave. Good lookin jeep. Oriflame canyon and Rodriguez are mild trails that I when my jeep was stock. Those two trails run parallel to each other and to can do a loop and come back where you started. They are just east of Julian in a little town called Banner. There is. Website called Dirtopia.com that has lots of trail information including these ones.

TDS is coming up and a great place to play, stock or built. May even win a few mods in the raffle.

Tierra Del Sol in Ocotillo Wells CA. It is a big get together for Jeepers of all kinds. From Stock to Rock buggies, you will see it all. There are runs that you can go on from wild to mild. The best part is the Training area there where people try their hands at the obstacles where parts break, and body metal sometimes doesn't make it through. There are also some obstacles for those of us that don't want to risk body damage. I forget the dates but there is a thread in here that has them.

Welcome Fishhead!
Main Divide is very easy- but top down sun shining is still a great way to enjoy your Jeep. Just make sure to check in advance on what gates you'll be going in and out of. Many fire roads/gates are closed this time of year.
Let me know if you do the Divide Gunner. We're gearing up for a gear change (chuckle chuckle) Presidents Day. I'll need to rack up some miles on the new gears before I can do anything tough (Calico) so Main Divide is on my list.
