When I push in the clutch I hear a loud screeching sound. It started all of the sudden last night on my drive home. Bought the car a month and a half ago and haven't had any mechanical issues, not sure what kind of work the PO had done to it. The sound doesn't always happen when downshifting and coming to a complete stop but otherwise happens anytime when pressing in the clutch. The sound goes away when the clutch pedal is fully pressed. Seems that it's at it worst when it's in about half way. It has no problem engaging any gears and still shifts smoothly. After reading other posts it seems it could be the throwout bearing but I never heard the high pitch sound I have described on other posts.
I attached a video so you can hear the sound from inside the car and underneath the car while at a stand still.
Sounds like the throw out bearing is outa whack and isn't spinning right away

Yeah, had it looked at and the throwout bearing was donezo. Seems the culprit was a couple missing screws on the tranny that caused excess vibration which also caused the crank sensor to go out. Hope this is the last of my headaches caused by the previous owner with this jeep.

x2 on the throwout bearing...You might as well get a Luk clutch kit installed while you already have it apart. It will have the throw-out bearing included. I had the kit installed recently for $700.(parts/labor/1 yr warranty)
