^I actually think this is a good idea and could work, and it would avoid unintentional cold-call marketing of the website. I don't like cold-call marketing and that is what initially turned me off to the game idea. I simply don't like getting marketing cold calls, so per the golden rule, I don't do what could be interpreted as marketing cold calls. Not here to be a buzzkill though, so I'll throw in my 2 cents.
Before I had the chance to hit send, CarolinaBound posted up along the lines of which I started to think about. Set up some rules for identifying players of the game (like the WF decal or some other unique identifying sticker/decal), and only tag those people who identify themselves as participants. You wouldn't even need to use the WranglerForum name on the tag card. You could simply use the thread name such as "The Ultimate Jeep Tag Game" and a note such as "You've been tagged by [username]! Go to the thread and check in!"
Participating players would already be familiar with the thread/game, but if you wanted to leave a hyperlink address that the player could type in to directly reach the thread, you could make a tinyURL link for it. The tinyURL you leave on the card or note would not display the WranglerForum.com address for anyone to see, intentionally or inadvertently.
I would be willing to play, but only if I knew I was tagging another willing player.
