Hello all recently I was stuck in traffic & had a random idea pop in my head. I would like to see what you guys think. I was thinking of making some business cards with TAG or some other wording printed on them, on the back would be instructions to this game I guess you can call it. Basically you would park next to another Jeep, then tuck the business card in the driverside window molding, windshield wiper, whatever. That person then does the same, maybe handwrite a WF username or name of their Jeep club. We could make a forum for checkins of the card like that dollar bill thing. So what do you guys think, like it, hate like, any suggestions?

I like this idea. Maybe there could be a new part of this forum dedicated to the game and the card would give them the link to that. This idea certainly has a lot of potential.

I'm out.

I don't like strangers touching my Jeep without my permission. I consider my Jeep an extension of my personal space. Unless it's a parking ticket, any flyer or what not get's tossed on the ground out of spite for violating my personal space.

Sounds fun to me.

Sounds like it would be fun.

Thanks for the replies, I think I will start making a draft of the card. I will post a pic of what I come up with, I think this could be a good way to bring new people to the forums & possibly make some new local friends to wheel with.

I'd play!

You're not allowed to put the WF name on ANYTHING without permission. Trust me, we tried this before. Good idea, people who cry about someone touching their jeep for something like this are too sensitive. Goodluck.

Jeep forum does some something similar.
I agree, I would not go putting cards on people's jeeps. Hand to hand would be a better approach.

If more people had the WF decal and limited it to those that would be better IMO. That way its not a total stranger but at least someone you can tag on the site. Have the card include username. But lotta technicalities and butthurt will come out of planning this lol

I was wondering about the whole using WF on the card without permission, I was planning on asking an admin about that. Last thing I want is legal troubles. As for the people that don't like a harmless business card put on their Jeep I respect that but what is the worst that can happen, the card thrown in the trash, big deal. Hand to hand would be ok but takes a little of the fun away, plus it would feel more like your marketing. Also it may be a lot harder to pass along, I don't know about you guys but I'm not yelling " who owns the Jeep outside " in the middle of a store. I would love to get more peoples opions on the idea. Thanks guys

^I actually think this is a good idea and could work, and it would avoid unintentional cold-call marketing of the website. I don't like cold-call marketing and that is what initially turned me off to the game idea. I simply don't like getting marketing cold calls, so per the golden rule, I don't do what could be interpreted as marketing cold calls. Not here to be a buzzkill though, so I'll throw in my 2 cents.

Before I had the chance to hit send, CarolinaBound posted up along the lines of which I started to think about. Set up some rules for identifying players of the game (like the WF decal or some other unique identifying sticker/decal), and only tag those people who identify themselves as participants. You wouldn't even need to use the WranglerForum name on the tag card. You could simply use the thread name such as "The Ultimate Jeep Tag Game" and a note such as "You've been tagged by [username]! Go to the thread and check in!"

Participating players would already be familiar with the thread/game, but if you wanted to leave a hyperlink address that the player could type in to directly reach the thread, you could make a tinyURL link for it. The tinyURL you leave on the card or note would not display the WranglerForum.com address for anyone to see, intentionally or inadvertently.

I would be willing to play, but only if I knew I was tagging another willing player.
