They look great with tube bumpers and pocket flates.

Rayko 02-06-2013 02:11 PM

Maybe you should do the angry eyes. At least they're safe.

Dude, it's your Jeep. If you want angry eyes, go for it. ;)

Just remove them off the Jeep. Has the same effect. Why would anyone wanna to make something that's for safty harder to see. I see all these cars and trucks with tinted signal lights and you can hardly see them and for what? Because it "looks cool"? It's not gonna look so cool when you get hit.

zeprider25 02-06-2013 06:04 PM

I have the angry eyes. I like them all that matters to me.

Westbrook 02-06-2013 07:34 PM

There is an XJ in my club that has them and I think it looks awesome on it, not sure about it on a TJ though. But to each his own, have fun!

Rrampley 02-06-2013 07:39 PM

I want the eye lashes and my man says no! I may do it anyway...

Damn well that saves me time and money for mods then :) I've only seen the smoked once they were ok. Thanks though guys!

Lol  indeed! I forgot! I'm in Texas and they'll deny my inspection if they see those! Come to think of it that Jeep I saw was not from Texas! Hmm thanks ;) I just wanted my Jeep to look mean :(

If you want it to 'look mean' there are much more effective ways to do that. Even if your Jeep 'looked mean' without them, the angry eyes would just make me laugh at it.

I see your point. What other mods are out there? I'm getting a stinger pretty soon, it should make my Jeep look a little more capable

Do some Plasti Dipping to your Jeep, it's cheap and adds a little aggressive look to your Jeep.

Stinger.....eh. There are very few cases of a stinger being done to the point that it doesn't look tacky, especially on a small SWB Jeep with small tires.

Here's what you need to realize when you consider aesthetics of a TJ: The tub is fat, the belly is low, the overhangs are considerate. This makes the already-small tires look even smaller. Minimizing the overhangs and footprint between the tires and under the frame will make the tires look bigger, making the Jeep look "meaner" I suppose. So, big fat bumpers or stingers that protrude out 12" will only screw up the proportions even more.

Here's a good example of a decent looking Jeep that was, IMO, ruined by someone trying to make it 'look mean.' Low belly, fat flares, big stinger, fake 'armor', too tall for the tires. Everything there makes the tub look fatter and the tires look smaller. This person didn't pay attention to function or proportions.

Here's an example of what I like--function leads to nice proportions. The tires dominate the whole picture, minimal overhangs, minimal under-frame footprint, clean lines, no excess. It wheels pretty good, too. ;)

hahaha. That looks like a friend of mine from highschool, same rice honda but black with all the same stuff on it. Thank god that stuff is over...

Anywaysman, it's YOUR truck, do what YOU want. If you look around, you'll find some really nice trucks here with people that have done that. We're all creative and do our own things, that's what's good about the car community, rollin with the jabs is part of the game :thumb:. But at the end of the day you gotta like it.

If you want to do it yourself, go to Joann Fabrics. In the crafts section they have vynil covering. They have limited colors but definitely black in 12"X24" sheets.

I did the "gaps" between my piano black pillar inserts and the window. The inserts are basically similiar to the escalade for that "one window look". The vynil came out great. I love the look but some might hate it. Again, I like it, but it's MY truck....and I haven't seen another one like it (in New England anyways), and when people ask about it I tell them it's a GM option so they don't copy me.

Excuse the ugly winter escalade wheels! The big nice ones are hibernating.

Ummmmm yeah.......... dude the "ruined" jeep you listed looks like most people's on here. Great job.

The second is nice and I can appreciate the work put into it but to me it looks totally unproportionate (to the owner: sorry, opinions are opinions) as far as a road worthy vehicle is concerned. That looks like a purpose built rig, not a fun all around vehicle that can wheel (which be honest, most of us have).

The first jeep actually LOOKS like a jeep, a very nice one might I add, not a crawler. ALSO, try driving the second on the roads, which most of us do. I can tell you that New Hampshire, also not the only state, would laugh at you all the way to the courthouse if you tried to drive that. Maybe the laws are different in Indiana, but in a lot of states that'd be a no-go.

The guy wants ideas of how to make his VEHICLE, not trail/rock rig, more "aggressive". There are plenty of options out there that he can achieve that look without making it look like a life sized Axial AX-10.
