TJ vibrations

I bought my 2000 TJ 2.5l manual about 6 months ago (112k miles). I'm almost positive it was lifted from the precious owner, sitting on 31's though. Whenever I got above 45 mph it would start to vibrate. Last week I had the tires re balanced and rotated, which did not really fix anything.

A couple days ago I was changing my t-case fluid and noticed there is quite a bit of play in my front drive shaft. Rear shaft felt good though. Now, I am thinking all my u joints need replacing.

Would this be the next logical step to get rid of my vibes? I notice it more in my seat than in my steering wheel.

Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Yes, I would definitely replace all of the u joints and the centering ball in the front drive shaft. And might as well rebuild the back also. Most of the time the front DS goes through the "angry sparrows" stage (search it up) and I believe yours is passed this stage now

How do I check pinion bearings?

Wiggle your shafts left, right, up, and down and if there's any movement ware the the shaft goes into your diff it's probably a pinion beating. The shaft is ment to rotate without and directional play in it
