H4 lights on the way

I just ordered my new headlights from daniel stern. I went with cibie e-codes and 70/65w osram h4 bulbs also ordered the relay kit. I can't wait for them to arrive. I hope they are as good as everyone says they are.

What kind of $$ are you talking about for that kind of setup?

The bill was $267 with shipping, pretty much the same where ever you look, but Daniel Sterns relay kits are components only, not harnesses. So you have to provide the wire and spade connectors. The reason I went with his is that he uses high quality relays and ceramic connectors, not cheap plastic junk. He will supply a harness if you want but it was another 100 bucks. I figured for that much I can go buy some wire and split loom and wire it myself, not to mention I like doing that sort of thing. I emailed him at 6 pm with questions, and got a response in 10 min. I replied again, to place an order and got a paypal invoice within 10 min. again. Great service.

That's really not bad. The Osrams alone are $70+. Housings for the headlights $100+. Relays (good ones as you describe), shipping, and importantly, his advice, easily cover the rest.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty fair, I will keep you posted when they arrive and I do the install.

Well today I finally got my housings, I received the relays and such 6 weeks ago, but housing were back ordered for the past 2 months. Not a huge deal, but a pain to wait that long. It was definitely worth the time and the money I can't believe what a difference that made, I can finally see. I adjusted the lights per daniels website directions and took it for a ride thru town and nobody flashed there lights at me. The high beams really light up the road in the country. I installed the relays and wiring right away and just hooked the old light back up, even that made a difference right away. I am glad I went with the ecodes, the low beam has such a nice sharp cut off on the horizontal to keep from blinding people. Money well spent, now on to the next.

:thumb: Nice... I went the cheaper Bosch H4 route but still very happy with the results. I knew my TJ lights were sub par but didn't realize how bad they were until I installed the H4's.. What brand relays did D. Stern supply?

Waldo1 04-25-2013 08:49 PM

yeah the stock lights suck. I don't know what brand the relays were, I will look this weekend to see if I can find what they are.
