Back to Crested Butte CO. for the summer…

JFjeld 02-13-2013 11:50 AM

I'm going to Moab for the first time at the end of May. My old friends from Iowa are making their 3rd annual trip and I'm going to meet them for 3 days of wheeling. The three days I'm there we'll be doing:
  • Fins & Things
  • Hell's Revenge
  • Cliff Hanger
  • Poison Spider
  • Golden Spike
  • Gold Bar Rim

The Iowa folks will be there for a week; myself, only 3. We've got 3 condos rented so far. If anyone is interested, PM me and I can see if there is still room available.

Moab probably in late April.....Hit some Arizona trails in May.....Ouray in June.....Holy Cross in July...... I'd like to swing a trip to the Rubicon Trail in Cali but am not sure this year.

Have you done Black Bear Pass near Ouray?

Justin04Lj 02-14-2013 04:11 PM

Yeah he was with us when we did black bear. It was freaking amazing.

JOCJK 02-14-2013 04:12 PM

Justin04Lj 02-14-2013 04:19 PM

There are so many great off Road Trails near Ouray Colorado, I also like Poughkeepsie, 4 miles and 12,500 feet elevation it's a great trip…

Justin04Lj 02-14-2013 04:40 PM

Yeah I missed poughkeepsie. My jks quick disconnect was unknowingly rubbing my brake line all the way through black bear. The we went up (the name escapes me) and when we were coming down I lost all braking power. I was very glad it didn't happen on black bear lol

topher38 02-14-2013 05:20 PM

Black bear, poughskeepe, and mineral creek were my favorites

Same here

JOCJK 02-14-2013 05:46 PM

I missed Mineral, or was that the one in same area of Poughkeepsie? I really liked all of them, definitely doing Black Bear again, maybe staying in T-Ride for a night afterwards. It will also help to know that the steep ledge is not nearly as bad as it looks when you approach it.

topher38 02-14-2013 05:51 PM

I think you hit mineral at least the bottom half of it

BreckenridgeYJ 02-15-2013 12:03 AM

Google blue lakes, mt Sheffels wilderness. In/near ouray. It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever been, or camped in my life.

chrisfp88 02-15-2013 12:20 PM

Mk. I'll see how much time I can get off work. I need a lot of notice.
