I can tell in my car or van when I need shocks, well struts anyways.
Is there a way to tell when its time to change them on my TJ? Time or mileage is not an option since I have no idea when when the op had the last set installed.
I do know they are struts. I check my cars the way shown on the video, along with certain noises that come early on on my mini van.
The TJ's suspension is stiffer and I wasn't sure the same theory would apply. The only vehicles I ever changed shocks on were due based on mileage or obvious problems (leaks, signs or wear on the shaft or bushings). I don't see those here but I figured I would ask.
So jumping on the number should do the trick.the same way?
In the state of Pennsylvania is u bounce on the bumper and jump of if the vehicle bounces more then i beleive 3 times after your off it doesn't pass inspection if that help
Sounds good, ill do the bounce test today. Out of curiosity, how often do they normally need to be changed? I do realize driving conditions and what mods are there but just to have an idea. Two years? Four years?
