Well if you're willing to drive an hour or so to Shaver Lake, there are a bunch of great trails in that area.

Thanks. I will look around. I will be in the area around the first week of August or a week and always looking for people to wheel with

There's trails up at Whiskey Falls snowmobile area, a few miles east of Bass Lake.

Hey I will actually be up there the second week of August. I asked a couple of the local's last year and found out about. A pretty good rock crawling spot that has a large bypass If you dont want the rocks. And it branches off into a bunch of trails that you could explore for hours. Right down the road from bass lake. Ill find my directions then post them up for you later tonight

Hey sorry it took me so long to get back, kinda forgot to post the directions/area haha.

So if you are going north on the 41 you will take a right on bass lake rd/road 222 amd drove about 2.6 miles or about 5 mins up the road. You'll see a turnout on the left side turn in there and drive through the gate. (I've never seen the gate closed, it most likely is in this picture due to the snow.) Follow the road up at the first fork stay to the left if you keep following that dirt road, you'll end up at a nice rock crawling section where you can go up the creek bed or take the slightly easier section to the left. if you dont want to do either of those you can go back a short distance and find the bypass and end up at the top where it can splinter off into a whole bunch of trails. I explored it for around 4 hrs one day, and went back a couple more times. Careful as it can be easy to get lost back there.

Did someone say Bass Lake? Love it. Make sure to post up/bump the thread if you go. Just know to avoid Labor Day like the plague. Packed.
And Buckhorn Saloon in Oakhurst. Our campsite has been raided nightly by a momma bear and cubs. We decided to forgo cooking and drove 30 minutes to Buckhorn. Called before we left to confirm closing time. We arrived 20 minutes before close- but we were refused service. The waitress said it was closing time according to their "bar clock". Oh, and since its the only bar in the area- the local cop parks it right around the corner. We got pulled over when we left. Thankfully we hadn't had anything to drink- but he wrote my truck up for window tint anyway. Just not our night.:nonono:

Thanks! It's a tradition. Been going for 10-11 years now with some buddies and his family. 3 to 4 generations now. We have explored some of the roads around the lake but now that I have the jeep I've always wanted, I'm looking to have a little more fun. We will be in the area aug1-11
