Which Rock Sliders to buy?

1 Attachment(s)
Time to get rid of the Smittybilt Nerf Bars & the Sahara trim. I'll probably pick up 4 or 5 inches in clearance. So who's rock sliders should I buy? I'd like them to it between the fenders. Poison Spyder's are nice, a red gloss under the spyder cut out would be nice.

Savvy?

Not sure what your time line is but I will have pics of my Nates 4x4 sliders on my jeep be next week. I have a thread going (Nates 4x4 all around) if you want to check that put for updates. If I could afford it I would probably go for aluminum, but dam that shiest is expensive! I am really happy with all of nates stuff and it would take a lot to 'f' these things up.

Savvy makes the best sliders out there.

WW2WW, Aluminum base plate to help keep them lightweight, Internal backing plate to sandwich the tub, preloaded against the body to take all the slack out, and they protect everything underneath. These things are rock solid and aren't going to budge.

Yes I know I'm missing a bolt in this picture :).

Very cool design! Just wondering since your a fab guy, have you made your own tube doors? Im looking to make my own or find someone to make them for me, rather then spend a small fortune. Sorry its kinda off the topic...

I just put a set of PS Ricochet Rockers on my TJ last weekend. I had them powder coated with a texture.

Pfff 2 months and no sliders? Savvy are the way to go, if there was anything wrong with my Curries that's the way I would go....

Are these the two styles of Savvy sliders? Savvys site pics only show one type (Moabrubies) for two different names. Which is which. thanks.

The ones with the tube were done specially for his Jeep, mainly for health reasons if I remember correctly; they aren't a normal option. You can call and talk to Gerald, perhaps he would do another, but the normal one shown above is their standard slider which they claim is much stronger. It's what I have, and is by far my favorite slider. Doesn't get much better in my opinion. Not sure how you could improve.

Well I called Gerald at Savvy and told him how I really liked those tube sliders. He told me pretty much what you just said, that they were a limited run. He also told me that he still has a few sets left and would be happy to ship me a set. Needless to say they will be making the cross country trip to my tj:). We don't have many rock trails here in MI so they should be plenty strong enough for sand dunes and two tracks. Thanks for the info:)

geiman 02-18-2013 06:55 PM

Yep, the G-man is a pretty good guy. Congrats on the purchase, you won't be disappointed.
