Air sensor, question
On my jeep (05) it's got a sensor in the air intake tube.
On older ones it's in the intake it's self.

Some of y'all computer guys may know. Is the sensor the same and read the same.

So can I put the sensor that is in the tube in the intake.

I'm asking Cus I have ported a intake that is the older one.
And I'm wanting to redo my intake and route it to the cowl.
I have already thought about using the section the has the sensor molded in the tube.
But if it will work the same screwed in the intake I won't have to worry about it.

Yes, the IAT can go pretty much anywhere unless you have boost.

Can I use the one that was in this intake?
I'm thinking this was a 02.
Also I was thinking 05-06 has a different computer then the older ones

I'm not 100% sure, but I would use it and view the obdii data to see if it seemed accurate.

What is the does it do? Air temp?

What's the proper name of it?

IAT (intake air temp) sometimes AIT (Air intake temp). It tells the engine the air temp so that it can take that and the MAP signal to determine how much air in going into each cylinder to add the correct amount of fuel.

That's what I was thinking it was called.
