4wd drive engages in the wrong place

So this is odd, and I have not found any post on this exact problem.

When I engage my 4wd I have to rock the lever over and up to almost where I used to be in neutral before my 4WD hi engages....then as I continue back to where 4WD low used to be it goes into neutral.

I am not sure what to start with, is this a TC problem or linkage?? I'm also a one man trouble shooting team, so having someone rock the level while I watch is a bit tough...but I'll give any suggestion a good ol college try.

Any thought?

Heres your problem. The bolt circled in red most likely came loose, letting the adjustment slip and come out of proper alignment. Just loosen the bolt, push the plastic arm inside the jeep into the "2wd" location or all the way down, push the arm on the transfer case all the way forward so it's also in 2wd, and tighten the bolt nice and tight. Should be all good!
