Towing

Ok so I'm looking into getting a small travel trailer but with my 2.4 what can I even tow? I've seen so many different answers I'm hoping to get an airstream 16 Bambi sport. The only thing is its 2900 pounds dry. Or I can get a small tear drop trailer This only weighs 1000 pounds.
Thank you

tow capacity is 1000lbs.

It is my understanding that the 2.4 is less than ideal to be towing with.

I'd be afraid to pickup a fat with a 2.4!! Let alone tow a 2,900# trailer.

I guess it's the teardrop. Lol I knew the airstream was too much just a dream still love the jeep though

I would be looking for a tent:whistling:, with the wheel base on a Jeep, much less the horsepower:whistling:, if you can not pick it up, I would not haul it:surrender:....

1,000 lbs is still a lot of weight to be dragging behind your 2.5... Yes it is rated for 1,000 lbs, but you will very rarely see 5th gear. More like 3rd gear wrapped out to 3400 RPMs just to maintain 55 mph.. I built an off road trailer that tips the scales at 500 lbs, fully loaded with all our gear, behind our 4 litre, and with the slightest up grade or headwind, I'm dropping to 4th gear just to maintain 65.. also running 33s with 4:11s ... Good luck, ;)

Well, is it at least a 5 speed manual? 4.11 gears? If I were you I would listen to everyone here and probably consider hauling with something else... But hey, if you wanna do it, then do it.
