So I just picked up an 04 wrangler, lifted with 33's. After spending some time on some trails it developed a loud squeak that real only was heard in first and second gear that I suspect came from a front u-joint. The squeak has since dissapeared, but now I get a pretty bad vibration though the steering wheel in third gear, although it maybe related more to speed than what gear I'm in. Then it's fine until around 60+, then i get a vibration that i feel more in the seat, not in the steering wheel, and it consistently fades in and out; like 'waahhhHHH waahhhHHH waahhhHHH.' Sorry I don't know how else to describe it. If i put the jeep in four wheel drive i get no vibration at all at any speed. Could all this be from a bad front u-joint, and maybe the need for an alignment, or does it sound like more is going on? By the way the ball joints were all just replaced. Thanks alot guys, any ideas or advice are appreciated.

i had the same situation on an older jeep, it was a u-joint, im kinda facin the same thing now on my 04 tj, but i really dont think its a u joint cause it feels a lot more up front, in the steering, i think its alignment
