What is the back spacing you would need to run 33x1050 on an 15x8 rim so that there will be no rubbing without spacers?

4"-4.5" would work nicely

X2. But go with 4" if you ever think you'll run a 12.50

Would 3.75 work?

That would work for a 10.50 or a 12.50 tire. But it will stick the tires out farther. Just be sure of your local laws. 3.75 bs would prevent any rubbing on the front lca's with a 12.50 tire especially if you don't have an adjustable track bar to recenter the axle after a lift. But for a 10.50 tire 4.25 would be better.

You can run a 31x10.50 tire on even a factory wheel with 5.25" to 5.5" of back spacing if you simply adjust the steering bolt stops by installing a washer. With any amount of backspacing under that, you wouldn't need to adjust the steering bolt stop. 4.5" would be optimal, 3.75" would work but position the tire further out than is necessary.
