Picky QUestion about new Sahara seats..Picky i know

anyone know of a good way to maybe dye the Sahara logo on the new 2013 cloth seats... i really like the way the Rubi logo is done in black stitch..not too fond of the Tan Sahara logo...

JeepDirtyGirl 02-21-2013 11:13 AM

Black permanent marker? Just put tape on the seat surrounding the area that you want to color in. I am not sure if this will rub off or not, but I wouldn't think so as long as you let it set for 24 hours before driving it. I know I use this trick for black heels on my shoes and black fabric on my shoes. Works pretty well for that. Not sure about the seats though.....just a guess.

Good Luck!

you know what i use on my heels when i get a scra....... uhhh, never mind, forget i said anything

...thanks for the input

That isn't picky...

I've thought about somehow changing the color myself. I think it is too yellowish...

just to clarify i haven't even bought the jeep yet and i'm already thinking about that...welcome to my head..
i was on a lot last night looking and i looked at a RUBI and thought 'man those seats look sweet with the black logo'
i might just be crazy enough to buy the RUBI for the seats!

Don't worry. Seats are the same reason I went with a Sport over the Sahara or Rubicon. I liked the texture of the Sport seats and configured how I wanted, I'm only missing the Nav and Heated seats from a Sahara. Didn't hurt that I saved several grand at the same time either.

mike1158 02-22-2013 05:36 AM

any more ideas? (bump)

Strokerswild 02-22-2013 06:07 AM

Funny, I was thinking about this last night in preparation for the arrival of my '13. Glad I'm not the only one with OCD (or is it OCJD).

I was thinking fabric dye applied very carefully with something like a plastic model paint brush or similar.

If anyone follows through on this, post some pictures and tip. You will make my wife very happy as its the only thing brown on the Jeep and drives her nuts.

This thread made me laugh. I was just thinking I wish the RUBICON logo on my seats were more visible

Use a fabric pen

Swivet 03-08-2013 02:40 PM

The only thing is idk how well it would work on the Sahara logo because its not all white

mike1158 03-08-2013 03:34 PM

i would think that black would cover any light color pretty well.... whire, yellow, whatever...

thanks for the info....

A week to a week and a half is what I'm told.....

jwilson2598 03-08-2013 05:08 PM

Fabric pen could work, I would just need to be careful since I have cloth seats, so it wouldn't wipe down like the leather in the video. Deciding if I want to be the guinea pig or wait one of you guys out, lol.

That's what it looks like too me but I looked at my build sheet and it says I have all black interior so I'm going to take the picture tomorrow with no flash

You can always get aftermarket leather or a nice trek armor or wet okole seat cover to cover em up.
