OHV in north florida / south GA

Whats out there, there is not a whole lot in tampa, and only one place in ocala, is there anything in north florida or south georgia to take a weekend trip from tampa?

Pics would be great if there is any parks in that area

I live about 3 miles from the Apalachicola National Forest. There are TONS of trails running all through it and there are numerous camping areas. Not sure what kind of trails you might prefer but might be something you would want to look into. Just got my ride so I plan on taking the kids out as much as possible.

i like all kinds of trail riding, rocks, mud, hills, drops, love it all :thumb:

These are probably more mud than anything, typical forest trails. Tons of 'em though.

Where would we find the appalachicola trails? Do we just find the camping areas and it will be obvious?

I've been keeping an eye on this thread becuase I'm looking for pretty much the same thing. I ride mostly in the Ocala National Forest and occasionaly Hardrock looking for something new!

I called the ranger station and they sent me a nice e-mail saying that there were miles of trails, mostly just dirt roads but a few creek crossings, some mud and a few nice trails worth finding. Still haven't made it down but I thought it was nice of the ranger to take the time.

There are some trails off 54 by hwy 98 coming out of Zephyrhills going into Lakeland thats just around the corner from tampa less than an hr away lot of trails and more mud than you need for some fun just one way in on the right if you come from Zephyrhills way by SE 54 it's about 1/2 a mile. a mile tops or so before you get to hwy 98
