I put wheels on my/my wife's new Jeep :)

My wife and I traded in her '03 Liberty 2 weeks ago for a 2013 Commando Green Freedom Edition. It was sad to see the Liberty go.... for about 8 seconds.

Today the Wrangler received Black Rock Viper wheels, 17x8 with 0 offset, with 285/70/17 BF Goodrich AT tires. The backspace and tire size are peeerrfect, it put the tires right outside the fender about 1.5-2 inches.

Everything else is stock. If the backend seems kind of low, its because I had 400lbs of stock wheels sitting in there :)

Sooooooooooo, woohoo

i'm curious, you said a 17X8 wheels with 0 offset? what is the offset? you mean spacers? i'm pretty sure its not backspacing....
please school me on this?

It means the wheel mounting pad on his wheels is at the wheel centerline.

Here's a backspace to offset conversion chart. :thumb:

so per the chart he's got an 8" wide wheel with 4.5' backspace which = 0 offset

strange i thought the "center" of an 8" wheel would be 4" backspace....
but if you say the chart is correct..i'll take your word for it. Thanks

You have to add 1 inch to a wheel that is listed as 8 inches. So 9/2=4.5 backspace since offset is zero.

Yeah those wheels are boss.

Thanks for the compliments. I'm going to tell my wife about the compliments, then she'll suspiciously start to like the idea of modding it.

Yeah right! Let us know how that works out. If it does, you should bottle up that luck and sell it for a high markup! lol
