Hi guys, new to the site and a first time poster. I'm sure there is something on here for the question I'm asking but I wanted to make sure I am posting in the right spot. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone has bypassed their A/C compressor on their accessory belt and if they noticed any difference in the way of MPG or freeing up some horsepower and torque. My thinking is the heat will still work in the winter (since it doesn't run off the a/c) and in the summer Ill probably have the top and doors off anyways. Any info would be great.

Just don't turn the A/C on, or use any HVAC settings that run the compressor.

Right, my only thinking was this guy in my school said he bought some aftermarket pulleys for all his pumps from JEGS that were smaller the stock pulleys. And supposedly he got a little more performance from his engine, so I though shortening the distance by bypassing the compressor would essentially do the same thing.

Putting smaller pulleys on the driven accessories would make them spin faster, requiring more horsepower. A smaller drive pulley (crankshaft) or larger driven pulleys (accessories) would reduce the required horsepower to turn them. Simply shortening the belt length will have no affect.

Gotcha. Thanks. Just wishful thinking I guess lol.
