Hard top storage

My soft top should be here any day now, and I need some ideas on storage for the hardtop.
I have one spot I could store it vertical, are the "dolly" type racks sturdy enough, if it needs to be moved around occasionally ?
My garage has a rather low, 9 ft foot finished ceiling, so I would have to be able to hang it almost flush to avoid smacking my head on it, not to mention trying to find the joists.....
.....and I can't store it outside.
So, any ideas would be appreciated.

You can find plans for building the dolly on here or google hardtop dolly plans...

And at my current house I built a hoist
Using the old dolly...

My garage has almost 10' ceiling

I built the same dolly as wwch99tj. It works very well and as long as the flooring its sitting on is even is very sturdy holding the top up.

It's gonna be in the way no matter where you put it. Even with a low ceiling it'll probably be easiest to store against it. You get used to walking around it after you draw blood for the 1st time.

If you need to get the top on/off by yourself, back it in and use ratchet straps / eye screws in the joist to lift it up and keep it hanging there. You can park the nose under it. You can find the joist by pre-drilling eighth-inch holes to make sure it's on center.
