The perfect sub for a Wrangler

So after doing a fair bit of research on the best subs for a Wrangler as well as something that wouldn't break the bank, I finally went with this:

Boss Low Profile Subwoofer - Walmart.com

(It hurt a bit to give Walmart business... but, ya know... it was cheap) :hide: I just finished wiring it all up today and 3 hours later I can honestly say it was well worth the small amount of money I paid. If you're looking for the kinda bass that'll shear your vinyl windows from their zippers, this isn't for you, but the quality of the sound is astonishingly good. With a bit of EQ tweaking I managed to get my soundstage set up as well as I possibly can in a Wrangler. It's a night and day difference, fills out the sound so well. Also comes with a cute little Bass Level knob that I mounted under the dash.

And it's attached with velcro strips, and I've got every cable bundled together near the inputs, so if I ever need to remove it, it's a 1 min job. :)

Overall, very satisfied with this thing. And just to mention I've upgraded all my other speakers to Alpine and I'm running a Pioneer deh-x8500bs.

Is that the 8" or 10"? I bought the 10" and was initially really happy with it. I spent a couple of hours tweeking and tuning it for all kinds of music and got to enjoy for one night, and then the following day my lovely wife managed to blow it up.

Haha, aw I'm sorry to hear that. I got the 8" model, a wee bit cheaper.

It sucks, but I worked at a stereo shop for 7+ years so I new I was taking a gamble by buying boss audio. I did expect it to last more than a day though. On the plus side the sound was better than I expected.

I had one of the clarion powered sub like those. Not a bad sound just not worth the $200. The infinity basslink is by far my favorite powered sub.

Its just too bad the basslink wont fit under the seat. Focal makes a really nice slim mount but big $$$

Try the kicker cvt its a nice sounding shallow mount sub. Its available in 8"

There is an Infinity BassLink on crutchfield that is a 200 watt but on amazon there is also an Infinity Reference BassLink II that is a 250 watt. Is the reference version the newest one or what's the deal with that? Wonder why crutchfield doesn't carry the Reference.

they had it for some time but not any more, not sure why. but the new one has better sound quality.

I put the Pyle 8" powered slim under my driver's seat. Sounds great... mine's a soft top wrangler, so it's never going to be audiophile quality.

I'm planning on getting the sound ordinance b-8pt 8" powered sub asap. It has a phenomenal amount a good reviews, and I've seen a lot of people that said they liked it on here. Plan to get it from crutchfield, it swaps back and forth between $150-200, but its been at 150 for a while.
