4" Suspension Lift w/ 32 in. Tires
 
I am considering getting a 4" rc suspension lift on my 2010 Wrangler Islander. Just wondering if my stock 32 inch tires are going to look small. I have read in some other forums that say they would look fine. But I figured I should ask for myself. Thanks

It'll look ridiculous, yes. For a 4" lift you'd want 35s at a minimum, 37s even.

I would advise against a Rough Country 4" lift--that's too much height to use a "discount brand," in my opinion. Major changes should be done with at least relatively high end parts.

Also, no matter what lift you choose, if you go 4" up you've got to factor in the other improvements that likely wont come with the kit, driveshafts being a biggie.

It's probably better to start by asking what size tires you want to run, and then deciding on lift height accordingly.

I appreciate the advice. I'm not wanting to spend a ton. Just kind of for looks and a little more ground clearance. What would you recommend?

Somebody correct me if I am wrong but a suspension lift doesn't give you ground clearance, the tires do. You could lift your jeep a foot and the axles, which are the lowest point, will still be the same.

Technically true, but . . . it might be more accurate to say lifts increase the clearance of everything but the axles.

Approach, breakover, and departure angles are all improved by a lift. Lifts also allow you to run bigger tires, and provide more room for flex. So they improve a lot of clearance-ish type things.

So pretty much what I'm looking at for a decent price without needing to run larger tires, is a 2-2.5 inch lift. Now the question comes, Suspension or Body?

Agree... Stay away from body lifts.

A budget boost is very easy to install. Spacers are placed on top of the coils and you will get exactly what's listed for height.

Most aftermarket coils are rated for weight and might give you more than advertised.
Not a good thing if building on a budget and want to avoid DS/steering issues.
