I recently purchase a 2010 JK from a dealer that has a k&n cold air. Which leads to my question of it being flashed with an unknown tuner since I'm getting light knock at wot with 87 octane. Assuming it has and I purchase a tuner, diablo, superchip, etc... Can they return ECM back to stock and go from there with tpms delete, etc.. ??? Or, do i need to take it to dealer for a reflash to stk prior to purchasing a tuner? Thanks for any input, Sean

The dealer can flash it back to stock. There is also a procedure to reset it. Just because it has an aftermarket intake doesn't mean it was flashed. A lot of 3.8's have that knock. It can be a bad sensor or an issue with the EGR valve.

Thanks. That is true, it may not have been flashed? I was wanting to buy a tuner for other reasons and was just wondering if it'd be a problem if it was? A procedure to reset it through a tuner I assume?
