Mine is a white jeep and lined white by a PO. It's a look. The most important part is the protection that it offers to the tub. Whatever color you decide on I think lining is a good thing.

yeah, i'll be doing it in my garage so im looking for the easiest kit to work with. my jeep has no rust at all and its an 87 so i want to keep it that way. i figure i'll do the inside one weekend and then try to do the outside another weekend. its my daily driver so i'll have to do it when i have enough free time..lol

Bill_FL 03-06-2013 05:34 PM

I will find or take a pic of it tomorrow, but I just finished mine a month ago. I rolled it on. A few things I learned. First, do a very good job on prep work, twice. I had a tiny spot that is under the center console now, but it had oil on it. I cleaned, tsp, etc. the monstaliner didnt stick to it. Also, it is not as thick or as tough as I thought it would be. If i had to do it again, I would double it. Putting the seats back in, i chipped a piece off with the seat frame. I would have thought it should have resisted that.

My biggest issue with the it was the complete lack of any customer service. Two weeks after my order with no confirmation of shipping, i began the process of trying to get someone there to answer emails or the phone. Finally a guy told me they didnt have what i had ordered an didnt know when they would get the OD green. It was a very frustrating process and I probably would not use them again because of it. I did finally get it, but I am not sure if I had not called every day for weeks If I would have.

I'm looking to do white roll on into my white tub. I like having a light colored floor so I can easily find stuff I drop.

wow, i figured it would have held up a little better than that. kinda makes me want to look into other options. im only going to use that on the outside, i planned on just using the black herculiner on the inside

the white on the inside actually doesnt look that bad. my cousin did his samurai in it and it turned out good. he used the raptor spray in

When i lifted the seat with bracket attached, it "dinged" against the body where the door closes against it. I brought the liner out to there. It would not have made a mark on paint and it chipped the liner. I waited on them because of their color selection. I really wanted the OD green. If you do it, do four coats - twice what they say.

I don't know about any of this. I have dealt with Eric personally many times. He has always been excellent. We have talked as late as 1130pm. I even designed a color with him.

My exterior and interior of my Jeep was done 2 months ago, and has been great. Prep is the key to everything. I was verrrryyyy meticulous. Even states it on his site.

Bill_FL 03-07-2013 06:53 PM

Rescue, I tried to talk with Eric. He woudnt return calls or emails. I spoke to one guy who would actually answer the phone once in a while. I was referred to Eric several times, but he wouldnt return calls. It wasnt until i threatened to file complaints through my credit card company that i got someone to admit that they had not shipped the product after weeks of waiting because they didnt have any to ship.

It seemed to me that they were way under staffed in the customer service area. I had to act like I wanted to placeanew order to get someone on the phone. Like I said, if I were to deal with them again, I would double the amount of product theysay to use.

Bill,

That seems strange. I know they have been in the process of moving their entire business from the east coast to Alabama. I'm not defending anyone, but I know Eric does handle a million calls, and tons of people have his personal number.

I'm sorry to hear you are having problems....

Their customer service was great for me. I called them from Home Depot and Loews asking them about rollers I could use since I only had a couple from them. They were super helpful and told me everything they do when they paint it. Made my life a lot easier trying to figure out what store bought roller would give me the texture I wanted. As far as the product. I triple coated in and double coated out. I beat on my Jeep rougher than 90% of Jeep guys. It holds up awesome.

we got a bullitin at work stating MGP would no longer be mfg the Monsterliner. due to rising cost of material.

This is the masking - getting ready to roll it.

OD Green rolled in. Working on new speaker wiring in this shot. You are seeing dusty foot prints by the drivers door.https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...07717753_o.jpg

I would love to see some pic.'s of Jeeps painted with this stuff on the outside. I am considering it, but I am a little apprehensive about the look. I know it wont be a high gloss finish, but I am not loooking for that!

The one gallon kit will do two coats in the tub.

Gunz n tractorz 03-09-2013 07:05 AM

Is 2 or 3 coats better? And why?

Bill_FL 03-09-2013 04:19 PM

I did the two coats as recommended. If i had it to do over, I would have doubled it.

OverkillYJ 03-09-2013 04:32 PM

I bought the 2 gallon kit to do inside and out with the intentions of buying a 1 gallon kit after a year or so to do 2-3 extra layers in areas that get extra abuse. I dont need to do it, but I still plan on doing it this summer just so that I have it looking perfect. I have not had and problems with any peeling or chipping. I throw tools and things inside the tub all the time.
