underpowered jk 2011

hi guys we have had our JK 4 door for 12 month/25000km. my main issue is a serious lack of power. any mods i should consider to get a few more ponies?

The only real guarantee of extra power would be a supercharger.

They are available in oz from RIPP, Magnusson or Sprintex.

Magnusson is the most expensive and is only available ATM for autos. Cost about $8000 for unit, fitting and new exhaust headers because of the heat it produces.

The other 2 are probably about $2k cheaper but have heard mixed responses about mapping etc. but don't know any exact figures on gains. I have read some owners are extremely pleased but also know a couple that have had nothing but headaches.

I have seen a JK with a Magnusson on the dyno and they achieved a gain of almost 90% extra output. 77kw to 138. And they hadn't finished tweaking.

Other mods such as air filters and cat back exhaust systems give minimal gains but do report small improvements in fuel consumption and they make the jeep sound better as well.

Hello, - We know exactly what you mean the 3.8 is well under powered for a sizable JK. We've sold over 2200 kits world wide and enjoy a vast clientele who use theor jeeps from daily drivers to literally race them...

We have the most powerful CARB legal kit in the country -

Our system bolts on in 5-6hours, produces 120 additional HP and 100 addition torque to the wheels, gains 1-4more MPG and is the most cost effective over all...

If you have any other question please don't hesitate to ask...

Superchargers are the only way other than an engine swap to get real torque increases. They are great alternative to an engine swap, they are cheaper and faster to install and have the added benefit of working well at high altitudes where an engine swap wouldn't help.

The Sprintex s/c provides great low end torque, and requires no fabrication. It has a great factory look as well. Innovate Motorsports liked it so much they just purchased the rights to Sprintex jeep line for all of North America.
