New to jeeps and the forum. Help? (yj)
I recently got a 1990 YJ (still carbureted) and I'm having some serious issues.
I'm pretty sure i have some vacuum leaks, it doesn't seem to drop into the passing gear when going up ANY sort of incline, which in turn seems to make it stall out.
Like i already stated, I'm completely new to working on cars and could REALLY use any help at all. It seems to have the inline 6 with a carter BBD, and when i got it i found hoses not connected, out ports for hoses that are just capped of and lines that are kinked between some coil.
Yes i realize this post is extremely vague, but please just bear with me.
It could be the carb and/or vaccum issues. The carter usually begins to fail after 20 or so years, Read into the MC2100/2150 carb swap, you ditch alot of the vacum lines when you do it so it might be worth considering.
Well that's good to know. I'll definitely look into it. It seems to be that every where i look everyone just replaces them immediately. I'll keep updating as I work.
