Spring: Softtop without windows v/s bikini top
Spring is almost here!!!! Amazon is taking care of my new bestop strapless bikini, should be here next week.

Now, my question is if it makes sense to just unzip windows from my Softtop and take the doors out, this would give better rain coverage as well as feel open? would this be an alternative to using the bikini? I then don't have to deal with removing and installing Softtop twice a year (which can be a b***).

Can you please post some pics of your YJ with Softtop and unzipped windows and doors off? If they look good, I'd return bikini top. Thanks!!

I would think that the soft top would flap less also

With the doors gone and the windows out of a soft top, you are essentially creating your very own home made parachute. The top will catch more air than a skateboard at the X games. It will flap in the breeze, and put some severe stress on the 2 back corners like a C cup bra trying to hold up a pair of double D's . Yeah I'm a smartass!

Sure it will give you more protection than a bikini top, but a bikini is designed just like a womans bikini top, to just cover the important stuff.

Take your windows out and the top of your doors off, and take it for a ride, you will understand 2 things, it wasnt meant to be used like that, and or, the stereo amp needs to be much larger to drown out the noise that the top makes flapping in the wind.

Looks good! Does it flap a lot at highway speeds? Or balloon up like a parachute as suggested by other jeeper???
And thanks for the pic!!!

Yup more parachute effect then flapping though.
