Mechanical advice plz HELP

I have a 97 Jeep Wrangler Sport with well over 150K miles on it. I have owned it since it had about 100K miles. It has had MANY repair$$! My transmission now needs to be replaced. What might be my best option?

Forget it & get a new car.

Repair the Jeep by either;
put in a brand new transmission
put in a rebuilt transmission
put in a used transmission

And what could I expect to pay? I was quoted $3k for new or $1200-$1500 for rebuilt or used.

Thank you Please advise me I am a non -mechanically inclined female...

i would go with the rebuilt instead of used....and that's not a bad price you were quoted......the jeep is worth fixing......

Definitely worth keeping. You can get a rebuilt with a 1 yr warranty from places like AutoZone for about $1200 and then that should last you another 100-150k miles :thumb:

Autozone transmission.... Sounds sketch.

What's your mechanical issues?

Agreed. Go to a reputable transmission shop and get it rebuilt.
