powdercoating bumpers
Hey guys,
Im about to get a couple new bumpers. I can either get them semi gloss black or plain steel. I really want them powdercoated. how much do you think it would be to powdercoat bumpers? I have never had anything powdercoated and I have no idea of cost.

Powdercoating can start flaking off and you'll just end up touching them up with Rustoleum or Krylon rattle can paint. I personally would just have them painted. I've yet to have powder coating hold up very well for very long to much of anything.

I used spray on bed-liner when I built mine. Other than getting scratched by boulders, it has held up quite well...

And ya can't beat it for only a few bux a can :D

we do powder coating and we haver yet to have any of it flake or peel off
my front bummper is powder coated and so is my gas tank skid plate

at work we sand blast everthingthat is getting powder coated it helps the powder stick better
most plases dont prepare the metal right thats why it flakes or peels off

I hit my gas tank skid all the time it only scatches the powder coat it has never peeled or flaked off
I have even hit my front bumper and it only scratches the finish

x2 mr 4x4 prep work is the main cause for powder coating or paint problems but grant you if you smash it up any of it will come off

Paint is the way to go in my opinion. Cheap, easy, you can touch it up if needed, and once there are too many touchups, you can repaint for a "new" bumper cheaply.
