Steering Stabilizer

Hey guys,
Just got my 3 inch lift with 33 inch tires. Looks awesome! I only have a little wobble once I hit 45 but not after that. The guy that put everything on said a steering stabilizer would correct it. Any brands that are really good or certain things I should look for. So far, you guys have helped me do eveything to my jeep and it turned out great! The one I am looking it is 50 bucks by Black Diamond on quadratec.

black diamond is good...you can go with pretty much any brand on steering stabalizers...well not ANY brand but any good brands...black diamond should be good...rancho and fabtech make a good steering stabalizer also...rough country also makes one

If ya wanna save a couple $$ check out the Monroe steering stabilizer. I got it a while ago and it works just as good as the big dollar ones without the big dollars. I think it was like $25, sorry can't remember part # but you can find it online and probably get it at local auto parts store. Just be prepared to deal with getting the tapered bolt out of the stock one...spray WD-40, use a ball joint puller or a BFH

A new ss will not correct the problem, but only mask the problem. A couple of possible causes are needing an alignment after the lift, and possibly having the tires rebalanced...

What used to be a vibration in the steering wheel turning into the death wobble tonight. Is happened 3 times on my way home once I hit 35 mph or so. When I got home, I turned the car off, went inside to get a flashlight, didnt find anything wrong, and took it for another drive. I was going 60 with no problem. No wobble to be felt. Why did it just go away? An adjustable tracbar seems to be what everyone says to get. What do I do?

Death wobble in a TJ? I've experienced it in an old CJ, but never a TJ. Weak steering parts I'd guess. Did you add a drop arm to the steering box?

BlueBoy 07-22-2006 10:51 AM

No, the drop arm wasn't in my kit. I only have a 3 inch one and everyone I have talked to said that 3 inch isnt high enough for one. Should I get them in addition to a steering stabilizer and adjustable track bar?
