Firewall Grommet/Boot

I was punching some holes through my firewall to run wires and I guess I pushed a little to hard because I ripped the whole grommet. It is the circular one right behind the gas pedal. Now I have been looking everywhere but I cannot find a replacement. Anyone have any ideas of where to look so I can replace this grommet?

Seal it with some clear RTV and call it good. I looked through the pdf parts catalog and can't see the part either. I searched for grommet.

I tried the RTV and it isn't holding very well. I still get mud and water leaking in.

you could try ACE hardware or something like that. they typically have odd sized grommets for things...

Ok, I'll head there and check.

Lowes also has a "hard to find" auto parts section with screws, grommets, retainer coups, those plastic push screws that hold the fender well plastic and and other stuff like that. It's in the nuts n bolts section.

Agreed! Ace Hardware has a lot of odd parts in their hardware section that I normally can't find anywhere else. I also appreciate the fact that Ace normally has someone working in the hardware section that actually knows what they're talking about (at least at mine, that is!). If you still don't have any luck, you might want to try some expanding foam. It won't necessarily look that great, but will definitely be functional and keep out the elements. Good luck!

Lowes also carries grommets of various sizes in the hardware dept. They are in the drawers.

I haven't found the time to check Ace and I will also check Lowes at the same time. Thank you. I will check back in to report if I found anything that would work.

Pop into your local car eectronics store...they will give you one or sell yo one unless they are completely dull!
