87 vs 89/91 vs 93

Any one done any testing to see what kind of mpg they are getting with the different octanes?

higher octane has less energy. The only reason to run higher octane in a stock jeep is if you use a programmer to advance the timing. Other then that you will get more out of the lower octane gas.

With a programmer and 93 octane would it give better mpg than stock 87 octane?

The only use I found in 89 over 87 at least in my area is the winter bend. Seems my Jeep runs better and gets a little better fuel mileage during the winter months with 89 and go back to 87 in the Spring.

The programmer made me use more gas in the performance mode but it had more power. (Pay to Play)

I find myself running 89 a lot of the time because I hear pinging when I climb hills on the freeway in the winter.
