Newbie and looking for places to ride!

Hey y'all. I just bought my first jeep and I am looking for places to ride in McDonough area. Not looking to sink it up to the windows yet just want to go and have fun with the family. Thanks for any advice.

I know a place that's a service road with one or two places with mud but most of it is gravel.

Went behind the Quiktrip on 155 behind the industrial park and it is wide open, mud holes and fun!

I'm not sure if you are good to go out there. I have never been.

I think you joined SORE already so that is cool! Check out the ride we are doing on 4/6 to Albany, GA. I think it is only 2 hours for you... about 1.45 for us so its a good middle spot. We are thinking we will have between 6 to 10 rigs there. You can see the details on the schedule in SORE: http://www.facebook.com/groups/SORE4/files -> then click on the events doc.

Let me know if you have any questions or are able to make it. There are lots of trails, some obstacles and a sand pit

Can't make it that weekend, I am doing the Tough Mudder in Washington, Ga on the 6th. Let me now when other rides come up cause me and my family would be glad to ride with y'all.

Will do. We keep the schedule pretty full between all the clubs involved so there should always be something going on and hopefully more clubs will be represented soon.

A little late for this thread but me and a few buddies have been randomly going out to the hills and short trails off of Patrick Henry blvd across from Georgia power in mcdonough. I always passed by and seen people with trailers and people off riding their dirt bikes and 4 wheelers so we figured screw it and started going out there also. Plenty of people have gone by and nothing yet. Not sure if its illegal or not but no one has said anything yet and I have noticed more people going out there. We haven't seen no trespassing signs. So 9hey everyone's doing it, why not! Really up to y'all just thought I would let you know.

Is that where the old Park and Ride was, just off I-75? I used to ride out there a lot when I was a kid. I figured they would have built something there by now. I remember riding those trails one time, and came out of the woods right in the middle of the golf course...on one of the greens... at Eagle's Landing Country Club

I'm up for a good easy ride anytime in McDonough.
