If you plan to keep the factory bumper, it looks like a nice way to mount some lights.

I have the mopar one (same thing) and it looked good without lights on it and with lights on it. So if you do plan on keeping the stock bumper go for it, or wait for me to go aftermarket and I'd sell you mine for like $30 lol

Was the install easy?

MRT2 03-23-2013 02:21 PM

I have one also, the install is straight forward. If I recall correctly, four bolts to for the brackets, and four screws for the light bar. There was some tight spaces to get to, however if you have some helping hands - it shouldn't be an issue. (My version didn't require any cutting for the 2013 Rubicon)

Thanks... Any pics of them on your jeeps?

All the ones I read about look like they require some cutting?

DFD23 03-30-2013 01:03 PM

Nothing??

I like the mbrp one, and got that. The one you pointed out looks to skinny for the front end. This one does require minor cutting to the plastic air damn that sits on the bumper. I did't realize how thick it was until I pulled it off. Thought I was going to get away with a heated box cutter blade. Nope, ended up drilling holes until I could cut it out. Was going to file it down for a smooth finish, but didn't have a file. Grabbed the zester/grater out of the kitchen to file it down. Worked perfectly! Hit it with a little sand paper and I was done. Don't tell the wife....

Thought that one also required moving of something under the hood?

oOoYTSEJAMoOo 03-30-2013 09:22 PM

I have a 2011, so it did not. I think maybe I remember reading that 12 and up require a minor relocation kit. Water pump or something???

I have the Olympic bar but I only mounted 2 lights on it instead of 3. It works great. It doesn't really shake unless you are offloading and bumping a lot but other than that its good. It's an easy install and doesn't require any rusting. I've had it on for almost 4 years and its still great. No rust whatsoever after 3 New England winters

That's great to hear. I hate those installations that require rusting. :whistling:
