Has anybody heard when the Wisconsin Off-Road Vehicel Park is opening?
It has been about 2years, in the making, but have not heard, anything about it.
Don't know if it's a government, hold up, or financial ?

For anyone in the area it would be a good idea to show up & show your support May 18th @ potto. I think it's a great idea too, but many don't. I've read it's an uphill battle trying to get this opened so I'm sure the more support at these meetings the better!

The Wisconsin Off-Road Vehicle Park, Inc. (WORVPI) Motorized Recreation Area (MRA) Forest County Park Project is currently being held up in the Forest County, Forestry & Recreation Committee, MRA Park Sub-Committee. The Sub-Committee continues to debate if and how to amend their 15 Year Comprehensive Forest Management Plan to allow for the MRA Park development and operation.

WORVPI established a MRA Park Sub-Committee Team that meets with the County Sub-Committee regularly (but was not appointed to or included as a member of the Sub-Committee) to address and answer their concerns. As with any governmental bureaucracy, you can imagine the snail’s pace of any progress.

WORVPI encourages motorized recreation enthusiasts to follow their progress on their web site at worvpi.org or on facebook & Twitter. WORVPI’s Annual Corporate Meeting of the Membership will be May 16, 2015 at the Best Western in Crandon, Wisconsin. All WORVPI Individual Members are invited to attend.

I think this would be great, but like you said...snails pace.

It's not. Last I read Forest County is dragging their feet and making no progress. Heard they are talking to a couple other counties that may be interested.

Little_Willy 08-05-2015 04:51 PM

Well that stinks. Basically saying no by not saying anything at all. Well hopefully some other county...maybe Marathon...could pick it up. I'd love to see this happen. I think it would bring some pretty good revenue to whatever area it is in. Thanks for the update.
