Need some help with identifying this jeeps yr

Have a friend who just inherited this and we are trying to figure out the year and where we can get parts for the top. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys

Vin number on drivers side dash by the windshield ....10th digit is the year

She has a bill of sale from 1967 where it sold for $750 but that is it.

Looking at the windshield, it looks like a CJ3A, but people did swap them out. Production was from 1948-1953 from what I understand.

CJ3A had wipers at bottom of windshield and a one-piece windshield.

that vin system will not apply to that vintage. This month JP mag has an article on how to be a vintage guru. Obviously, I have not read it....lol

correct,it is a cj3a,made from 48-53...and the 10th digit on the serial number being the year didn't start until 1981..serial number plate is under the hood on the firewall..serial number should consist of a standard prefix that tells the model followed by a 5 or 6 digit serial number..get the serial number and I can tell you more about it
