TSF Run 4-28-13

Hey gang, so yet again, I've got the "itch" to go to Tillamook- so do you have the "itch" too? I'm thinking Sunday April 28, since everyone went to Tahuya and with the "Go Topless" date in May 18 this should be a nice date in-between. I hope the weather will be nice that date, nice enough to have the top down but still be muddy in places, snow in places, and best of all, no dust (hopefully).:)

Date: Sunday April 28, 2013
Time: Head out by 0830AM from the North Plains Chevron Parking Lot. To get there, take US26 West past Hillsboro to Exit 57, turn right and meet in the back of the Chevron there.
Level of Difficulty: All levels are welcome, if the past events are any hint, we should have enough for two groups, one for beginners and newbies, the other one for those who wanna get down and dirty.:)
Trails: Depending on who and how many show up, I am thinking of working west to east through the park. Archers to rocky uphill, hogs back, etc. and maybe exit through cedar tree or powerline. Maybe University Firepower will be open? Firebreak 5 and RockyUphill are on my list, but for those who want to do it. No peer pressure, just pressure to have fun in front of your peers:)
Who can come: I guess since this is "my" event, I will call it a "hospitality event". Wranglers are welcome since this is the respective forum, but if you have friends who drive a Toyota, Samurai, or another Jeep- Cherokee, Grand Cherokee, Liberty, etc. bring it, as long as you are friendly and not an anti-social trail destroying fool, it's all good. No trash talking of the other guys' rig, unless it's your friends' rig. I would prefer if no one pulled up in a Ford Excursion, Chevy Suburban, Hummer, or some other sheet metal monster of similar size.:)
Gear: CB or FRS radio, valid ATV Permit, shovel, water, food, warm clothing, air compressor, positive attitude, you know the drill.

Who wants to go and get down?

Boom I'm I'm!!! I like the trail selection. I'm gonna try and get a buddy who just lifted his yj on 33s to come along as well. I will hopefully have my Aussie locker installed by then and would like to hit FB5. Im getting it this weekend for my bday lol. Either way I look forward to this run!!!!

rvkillian 03-28-2013 11:57 AM

I will probably make it.

IslandTJ 03-28-2013 12:44 PM

LOL, after submerging my Jeep and getting stuck in Tahuya, I think this would be great in getting me back on track.

Rocky Uphill and FB5 :punk:

Tentative in :)

MojoMark 03-28-2013 01:30 PM

In!

chevymad 03-28-2013 09:20 PM

Good way to get back up on that horse, Ken!

Having OPDA problems, trying to find a good shop on the PDX Westside that can do a cam swap. If its done in time, I'm in.

p.s. does anyone know a good shop on the Westside, we use Aloha Auto for most things car related, but I could use a good recomendation. This would be OPDA replacement (easy) and a new camshaft (not as easy).:banghead:

feuer895 03-29-2013 05:55 PM

Would it be okay if i tagged along?

cmattp 03-29-2013 11:54 PM

I'm in!

SmellsFishy 03-30-2013 01:00 AM

I may be tentatively there...

rusty1 03-30-2013 01:45 PM

I have the itch but have to pass. Just got the 4:88's installed so its going to about a month before they get broken in. Have fun and take lots of pics!

IslandTJ 03-30-2013 02:08 PM

Surely, you could easily take on 500 miles between now and the run :)

Of course! Why even ask such a question, did you think we have a secret society? It's not like we all wear leather jackets and have a secret gang with an even more secret handshake.:)

see you then!:)

Is it ok if me and my stock rubi go. and can you call me on chanel 2 as you go by my road..

Ice Man 04-02-2013 02:42 PM

I'm in too!

DrHolliday 04-02-2013 08:08 PM

I'll see what I have going on as the date gets closer.

rusty1 04-02-2013 10:17 PM

I may try to make this one. Depends on how many miles I can get on the new gears by then, my daily "commute" is only about 6 miles so they don't add up real fast. I'm thinking of doing the upcoming newbie run as a first extended trip and mild offroad outing.

jsears 04-02-2013 10:40 PM

Maybe I will tag along....depends on the schedule as time get closer.

Yeah we should be able to do that, just remind me as the date gets closer so I don't forget.

See you then!:)

Officially out due to work schedule :(

Cold 04-06-2013 09:33 AM

I might have to tag along myself.

skjeeper 04-08-2013 02:48 PM

Who's in or out?:)

Hey gang, so far, here's who is wanting to go vs. the maybe's. Just FYI.

Wants to go:
FireMike
RVKillian
Ice Man
Mojomark
ChevyMad
Feuer 895
Agaard
cmattp

Maybe going:
Cold
Jsears
Rusty
Dr. Holliday
Smells Fishy

Either way, still looks like we may break into two groups, but I think I have driven with many of you before, so this may still end up having two groups of intermediate/advanced wheelers. If there are newbies, please speak out and we will adjust accordingly so all have fun.

See you guys in a few weeks!:)
