32rh transmission kickdown adj.
hey out their!I was playing around with the adjustment on my kickdown cable this weekend and was wondering if I set it were it shifts a little later if it will harm the trans. before I adjusted it it seemed to shift a little early and soft.after I adjusted it shifted out of first at around 2000 rpm and was firmer and would shift to third at 35mph at mild throttle.just wondering if someone has heard if it could damage the trans.thanks in advance! p.s. this on a 2000 tj Sahara with 32rh trans and 32" tires.trans is in good working order and maintained!
this not damage the trans. only damage to fuel ;)
the linkage is adjustable and you should shorten the cable, if you need higher rpm and speeds in lower gears, for your driving conditions.
but have notice about higher temperatures and conditions inside the tranny - need better oil cooling [additional cooler, or deeper oil pan is optional]. but when you do not drive with wide open throttle [full gas] every time, its not damage the trans. i think...
