Lift confusion...

I want to add a 2 inch lift to my 97 SE. I'm not sure which direction to go. I'm looking at kits with spacers, and new shocks. I plan on 31 x 10.5 tires. I do 80 - 90% on road, and play a little off road.

Which kit does this forum recommend. Remember cost is always of prime consideration...

If you are doing very little off-roading, you will be happy with the extra capability that you will get with the spacer kit. If it were me, I would do that, and upgrade to a full spring lift when you decide to go bigger...

I just got throught putting on Rubicon Express 2'' spacer kit. it came with spacers, shocks, bump stop ext. It was simple and straight forward. I plan on putting on 31s soon , $$$$. I would highly recomend it.

Thanks, I think I will go with the spacer and new shocks. I do have another questions though...

After installing the spacer lift, and shocks, is an alignment needed?

Yes it's always best to either do an alignment yourself or have one done after you have lifted your vehicle. On a jeep it's easy to align it yourself. Just have to measure in front and behind the tires and adjust the tie rod accordingly. You want about 1/8 of an inch of toe in.
