Good phone to use with Uconnect

I am having problems with my current T mobile phone a Galaxy Blaze and Unconnect.
After talking to tech support at Uconnect and T mobile. It appears my best solution is finding a phone that is known to work with Uconnect. Then switching providers or buying an Unlocked phone and stay with T mobile. The list I got from uconnect seems to only have outdated phones.
So what Current phones are people having good luck with?
Thank you
Perry

atrix hd works okay but u connect is junk. i hate mine.

Well I'm not so sure about that. I have the RHB radio W/ Uconnect and like many others, I'm quite fine with it. Sure anyone can pick apart any system because they all have some issue. Your statement doesn't seem to offer any real information like:
1) the year of your vehicle.
2) What radio do you have?
3) What issues do you have that makes you consider it "junk"?
4) What network is your phone on?

i just dont care for the interface. just opinion. it works fine just im not a fan.

The best phone I have used with UConnect was the Atrix 4g. With its car dock "it just worked". As soon as it synched with Bluetooth it would stream everything fine from slacker to music and the handsfree worked great with it.

I currently have a Samsung Galaxy S3 and it also works well, I have no issues streaming audio and the Bluetooth connects every time with no issues. The trick I found is to make sure the phones BT is on prior to starting the Jeep, so at this point I just leave it on. I have no problems listening to slacker or streamed audio and the steering controls work fine.

My biggest (really only) complaint with UConnect is that incoming calls get announced, and I cannot for the life of me turn it off. So you get this "Incoming call from Whoever if you want blah, blah etc".

AT&T is my carrier.

Perry,
The Blaze worked fine when I tried out a co workers phone last year with the Uconnect system (it was tested with Android 2.3.6, Kernal 2.6.35.11 and on an RHB radio).
1) What SW & Android version do you have? What are the issue(s) that you're having?
2) Which radio do you have?
3) What is the year of the vehicle?

I seem to think that I have seen you post this similar post somewhere else, is this correct?

that is probably why i hate it the most. every time i call the wife who has the uconnect to and she answers i get to listen to the annoucement after she picks up cause it wont stop when i pick up. horrible.

Sometimes there is an issue with how someone is using the system that causes interface related issues. If you have used a different system before, then there may be a conflict in the use pattern or voice commands being different.

only voice interface ive ever owned was this jeep

Unfortunately because you are in a "hands free" environment, Chrysler has decided that you need to know when there is an incoming call. This is why there is not a way to turn it off except for simply not being connected.
Also, you don't need to listen to the full recording, I usually just wait till she says "incoming call from george (or whoever) mobile"--- I then press the Uconnect button to answer it, she may say another partial word but the call is now active. Really it takes about 2 -3 seconds.

the option of just a ring would be nice. or just say incoming call and leave it. if its a number not saved in the contacts it reads the whole damn thing. and by then the call has been sent to voicemail

xsdbs 04-04-2013 09:36 AM

never mind the above posting, You had replied with a description while I was replying to the previous posting.
Also I don't quite get how, if you're calling your wife who is in the vehicle with her phone paired up to Uconnect, how you are hearing the recording if you're not in the vehicle. The person calling does not hear the recording that the person in the vehicle is hearing.

BS
every time i call her and she picks up i hear the remainder of the announcement.

incoming call from........one eight zero zero five five seven five nine nine eight
its annoying and when i hit the answer button it keeps going. and when it picks up the other side has to listen to it.

xsdbs 04-05-2013 01:09 PM

BS? Hmm. Not so sure about that seeing how I have never had this issue and I haven't heard this complaint before. So I need to ask what phone does your wife have? I would be curious about what happens if you swap her phones for a moment and then you call her using her phone and she has your phone. I looked but I didn't see what radio you have, also do both vehicles have the same radio?
It is completely possible that the issue isn't Uconnect, phones have been known to create issues also.

She has an iPhone and she hears it when I call her and I hear it when I hear it when I call myself. I just used my brothers cell to call my phone connected to the jeep. Hit the u connect button to answer and I heard the last part of the incoming call announcement threw my brothers phone. Annoying

I had a android and it didn't work at all, got the Iphone 5 and now it is great.

PecosRiver 05-20-2013 09:24 PM

I'm not sure if this works or not, but today I had my iPhone 5 set to vibrate and the announcement wasn't there. The system just picked up and the call connected. I need to test this further and make sure that it's not just a fluke.

PecosRiver 05-21-2013 08:44 PM

Sorry, I was wrong or it was a fluke. Oh well.

Way to be completely broad with the phone you had before you swapped to zombie mode. If you are going to post a criticism or input on a topic, provide all the info.

My Galaxy S3 connected fine, streamed Bluetooth and had no problems even after flashing a new non-stock ROM. The only issues I had were a slight delay in the changing of tracks on pandora.
