Corbett 4/20

Anybody wanna join a few fellow jeepers on a trail ride through Corbett in West Palm? We are meeting at the south gate off of Seminole Pratt Whitney rd April 20th at 10am

ms705jk 04-05-2013 08:13 AM

Bump! Nobody?

krazyracer014 04-05-2013 12:11 PM

I'll meet you guys there.

ms705jk 04-05-2013 02:56 PM

Sounds good bud

AdrianVall 04-06-2013 11:08 AM

I may join! Gotta wait till the time gets closer to see whats going on that weekend.

JKNoor 04-06-2013 08:00 PM

maybe for me too..we might want to go a bit later in the day to avoid hunting times,a few weeks ago FWC was out in force and giving citations for being on trails you aren't allowed on unless hunting or scouting..lol and convincing them we are doing either of those is a bit rough with a bunch of jeeps

ms705jk 04-06-2013 08:45 PM

I hear yea noor. 10 is plenty late enough. I don't think there will be any hunters callin in Turkey that time of day.

krazyracer014 04-07-2013 06:44 PM

I believe today was the last day for turkey season. Shouldn't be any hunters out.

ms705jk 04-07-2013 06:55 PM

Well that's even better. Thanks

RHJEEP 04-07-2013 07:57 PM

I might be able to go. Just have to make sure I have nothing going on that weekend.

ms705jk 04-07-2013 08:06 PM

Man its getting better and better. Thanks guys for responding it should be a good turnout

Malan35 04-09-2013 07:31 PM

I think we are in too! JKNoor, Adrian, and RHJeep are our regular crew ;)

ms705jk 04-09-2013 07:47 PM

Welcome malan. Sounds good man can't wait.

ms705jk 04-09-2013 07:48 PM

Yo jkjouster what's up are you still leading this fleet of jeeps into the brush?

JKNoor 04-09-2013 07:54 PM

sorry guys Im out, FWC is out in force and cracking down. Guys i know from the Jupiter Jeep Club all got tickets last weekend and were told not to be on any trails except 6 and tomato

JKNoor 04-09-2013 08:05 PM

Heres a pic of some guys getting stopped on trail 3

ms705jk 04-09-2013 08:17 PM

Well I haven't been out there doing any riding. Whats wrong with the two trails you mentioned

jkjouster 04-10-2013 11:08 AM

im all good to go and very excited.

ill be out there. I also have a hunting license, so I will check in at the gate, and note I am scouting with a few cousins from out of town. shouldn't be an issue.

honestly, anticipating an issue of $55 tickets. just purchase the $30 hunting license online and forget about these issues. its a one time fee I think, and lets you scout or hunt any trails youd like,

hell even bring a rifle or a shotgun and lets get those hogggs

krazyracer014 04-10-2013 07:12 PM

I wouldn't bring any weapons at all....if you get caught with a weapon during non hunting season it's a big deal if i'm not mistaken. If they wanted i believe they could take them as well as your vehicle if you piss them off enough. But that would probably nbe a worse case scenario...

rabbit and hog are year round in every zone in florida.

so yes, it is always hunting season so, carrying rifle to scout and hunt is allowed in Corbett year round if you check in as a hog hunter.

jkjouster 04-11-2013 09:15 AM

Raccoon, opossum, coyote, beaver, skunk, nutria

also year round

take a look

krazyracer014 04-11-2013 03:17 PM

Those rules apply to private property. Corbett is not private its public land. I was at Hungryland with a bow in my truck during non hunting season and was given a warning for having it. Not trying to argue just don't want to see anybody get into any unneccesary trouble.

ms705jk 04-11-2013 03:27 PM

Krazyracer is right

ljrubitm 04-11-2013 09:06 PM

Here take another look
J. W. Corbett WMA

If you think just because you have a hunting license and that gives you a pass to go where you want to, when you want to, well good luck with that you'll need it. Sooner of latter people with that kind of thinking will get Corbett closed to us for good.
If you don't want trouble just stay on trail 6.

Yup trail 6 and tomato field(which lead to trail 3) are the only ones you are allowed to be on and IMO trail 6 or tomato aren't worth the drive since around its bone dry & its just lots of sugar sand....if you guys go out and run into FWC try to talk to them and see whats up & why they have been cracking down

jkjouster 04-16-2013 12:59 PM

alllright
maybe I was talking out my asss to get you guys to go :whistling:

but is it still not legal to scout for the next coming season, wasn't going to bring my rifle but still. can we not scout for next year?

im still going,

and hell. if they catch us on the way out and give us the ticket, I will surely promise you, the fun is totally worth the ticket.

just a really expensive offroad park, that's how I see it

krazyracer014 04-16-2013 07:47 PM

I know you can scout year round but not sure if you can be on all the trails. Also as far as a hunting license is concerned if you were born after 1975 you must take a hunter safety/education course put on by FWC. And i'm not sure how many tickets you can get before they issue stiffer tickets, if they even do. I too am still going even if we only ride trail 6 and tomato grade, hopefully with all this rain we've had and are expected to get it will make things a little wetter.

krazyracer014 04-16-2013 07:49 PM

And now that hunting season is over maybe there won't be anymore FWC out there. I have been out there tons of time just fishing or riding around in the truck and didn't see and FWC.

ms705jk 04-18-2013 08:26 AM

saturdays getting close. hope to see you all out at corbett. does anyone need directions? we are meeting at 10 at the south gate off seminole pratt whitney rd

AdrianVall 04-19-2013 11:15 AM

I don't think I'll be attending. Really not wanting to get a ticket. I'll go out once FWC is gone! :)
